Under the theme People matter, the A+A Congress 2025 showcased innovation, collaboration and a shared commitment to creating safer workplaces, with the Vision Zero strategy taking a central role.

The A+A International Trade Fair and Congress for Safety and Health and Work in Düsseldorf, Germany,
4–7 November 2025, reaffirmed its role as the world’s leading event of its kind. There were 2,340 exhibitors from 70 countries, 67,000 visitors from 150 countries, with 52 per cent international participation and 97 per cent visitor satisfaction.

At the heart of this year’s discussions was Vision Zero, the global prevention strategy developed by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) that aims for zero harm in the workplace. The Vision Zero Days brought together experts, policymakers and industry leaders to explore how prevention culture can thrive in an era of automation and digitalization.

The ISSA President, Dr Mohammed Azman, and Joaquim Pintado Nunes, who heads the International Labour Organization’s work on occupational safety and health were among the prominent speakers. The ISSA Special Commission on Prevention and International Prevention Sections were also key contributors.

As work environments evolve and systems are automated, the risks of fatigue, distraction and mental overload emerge as silent hazards. Key sessions highlighted practical tools and success stories from organizations implementing Vision Zero’s 7 Golden Rules, emphasizing leadership, risk assessment and worker engagement.

The message was clear: safety is not a cost – it’s an investment in people and productivity. As A+A 2025 demonstrated, the future of work must be safe, healthy, and sustainable. Vision Zero is more than a slogan; it’s a roadmap for organizations worldwide to protect lives and foster well-being.
