On 21 October 2020, a start-up meeting for the Danish Vision Zero Council took place at the Tivoli Congress Center in Copenhagen. The meeting was hosted by Human House, a leading Danish consultancy in occupational safety and health (OSH), and safety and health managers from a number of major companies, including Novozymes, FL Smith, Haldor Topsoe, Bavarian, Danish Crown and DSV.
Pete Kines from the National Research Centre for the Working Environment in Denmark presented the new Vision Zero Proactive Leading Indicators, offered by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), and which he has co-authored. Vision Zero Ambassador Hans-Horst Konkolewsky gave a status for the campaign and informed about the activities of the Global Vision Zero Business Council, which will collaborate closely with the Danish Council. Lars Hoffmann, Head of EHS Expert Center at Siemens, and founding member of the Global Council, gave an exciting presentation about Siemens' “Zero Harm Culture”.
Lars Tornvig, Director at Human House, was pleased with the outcome: "I think we had a very promising launch of the Danish Vision Zero Council and I am in particular pleased that we from the very beginning can count on the support of no less than 14 major Danish companies from different industries, all ambitious in safety, health and well-being. The meeting was held in a good atmosphere with lively dialogue, and judging by the feedback we received from participants it was a really good start of the Danish Council.”
