The ISSA Electricity Section has been working with the Commission for Regional Energy Integration (CIER) and its national member organizations in Latin America for many years. And since 2017, the Section and CIER have been organizing the annual International Symposium on Electrical Safety (SISE) together. This has allowed the Electricity Section to create an extensive network of occupational health and safety experts on this continent.

On the occasion of CIER's 60th birthday, Jens Jühling, President of the ISSA Electricity Section, presented an honorary certificate to Túlio Alves, Executive Director of CIER, and Juan Carlos Belza, International Coordinator of the Cooperative Area, and thanked CIER for its active support in strengthening prevention activities and in particular ISSA’s VISION ZERO strategy.

Mr Jühling also announced that as a thank you for the many years of cooperation, the ISSA Electricity Section had offered CIER a seat on the jury of the International Media Festival for Prevention, IMFP. He gave a warm welcome to Jessica Kaufman, Head of Communication and International Relations at CIER, as a new member of the jury.
