The International Vision Zero Africa Conference was held in Lagos, Nigeria from 23–25 November 2021, and hosted by the International Section of the ISSA on Prevention in the Construction Industry, OSH Africa and other partners.
The conference was an absolute success with delegates from France, Germany, Ghana, Nigeria, Qatar, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the United States, despite COVID-19 travel restrictions. 30 speakers provided excellent technical paper presentations for two consecutive days. Zambia won the nomination to host the next Vision Zero Africa conference, which will be held in 2023, as this conference will rotate across African subregions every two years. A technical tour of Day 3 visiting the Egbin Power Plant, the largest power generating plant in Africa, concluded a successful event with lots of new learning experiences.
