The Sydney Commitment to Vision Zero re-affirmed

During the International Symposium "Vision Zero for Sustainability along Global Supply Chains - Beyond Due Diligence Obligations" which was held on the 22nd and 23rd of October in Berlin, Germany, the ISSA prevention Sections on Chemistry, Construction, Information, Mining and Trade reaffirmed the four principles of the Sydney Commitment to Vision Zero in Global Supply chains:
- Basic Human rights and a safe and healthy working environment must be guaranteed.
- Business leaders and managers shall guarantee the safety, health and wellbeing for all workers in supply chains.
- the new model to improve safety, health and wellbeing PLUS the fundamental principles and rights at work (SHW PLUS) should be globally promoted and implemented.
- Collaboration of all stakeholders and supply chain partners is key to promote SHW PLUS and to initiate a continuous improvement process.
During the Symposium, the ISSA Sections also launched the new VISION ZERO Guide "Improving Safety, Health and Wellbeing in Workplaces along Global Supply Chains."
