On June 30, 2020, the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (Kasa Rolniczego Ubezpieczenia Społecznego) launched this year’s activities under the implementation of the “Vision Zero” Strategy in the agricultural sector in Poland. The main goal of the strategy is to reduce the number of occupational diseases and accidents at work, which is associated with the creation of better working conditions and improvement of farmers’ health.

This year, the Fund is paying special attention to the well-being of the farmer, as one of the three pillars of Vision Zero, next to safety and health, which has an impact on the safety of farmers’ work. Studies show that fatigue, stress, mental health and organization of work are important factors that can often affect the health and life of a farmer and his loved ones.

The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund has actively conducted preventive activities in the field of work safety on farms for almost 30 years. The strategy emphasizes the importance of such activities and aims to reach an even larger group of farmers with a preventive message.

This year, the strategy includes the 2nd National Youth Competition “My Vision Zero - Safety, Health and Welfare of the Farmer”, held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski. The competition aims to promote safe behavior related to work on a farm among young people, in particular secondary school students and university students with an agricultural profile. The co-organizers of the Competition are: the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Postal Insurance Company, the PGE Foundation, the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, the National Agricultural Support Center, the National Labor Inspectorate, and TVP Info as media patron.

As part of the 2020 strategy, a new promotional spot was presented during the press conference with Dr. Aleksandra Hadzik’s, the President of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, on 30 June 2020.
