Vision Zero marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April. As we emerge gradually from COVID-19, there is a need to build resilient occupational safety and health (OSH) systems. The global pandemic has put the health and safety of workers on the agenda like never before. By building on this experience we can be even better prepared in the future.

The 15,000 strong Vision Zero community believes in a world of work without accidents, disease or harm. Vision Zero supporters all over the world therefore took rapid action to ensure the health and safety of workers when the pandemic broke out. Based on the 7 Golden Rules, early advice for action related to the pandemic, as well as more detailed advice for companies and partners, were also developed and shared in the community.

The XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in September 2021 will be an occasion to take stock of the Vision Zero strategy to eliminate accidents, disease and harm at work, including in the perspective of the pandemic.
